Quick question though--were the scenes featuring the stickball bats symbolic? I was theorizing that perhaps the stickball bats represent contemporary society, desperately trying to reclaim the lost youth represented by the ball itself. Indeed, the children do seem to be 'having a ball.' Coincidence? I think not!
