BLACK DAISY is a Seattle based comedy duo thing. They are Troy Nelson and Cody Hurd. The new DVD titled Black Daisy: The Hardy Har Har Collection, has already gained much attention thanks to articles in The Seattle Times and The Stranger. Their video called "Test Pattern" will be making it's national television debut on the WC for the TV show "Online Nation" on September 23rd. They also had an amazing DVD release show at The Chop Suey with the screening of the new Patton Oswalt CD/DVD, out on Sub Pop Records. They have performed and/or screened their videos at venues such as The Central Cinema, The Chop Suey, Rendezvous Theater, and The Capitol Hill Arts Center. They have been part of the Seattle True Independent Film Festival, the weekly Laff Hole comedy shows, the What the Hell Did I Just Watch film festival, and Comedy Night (where they have shared the stage with Reggie Watts and Humpty Hump himself, Shock-G). They have recieved the runner up twice for The Stranger's 28 Second Short Film contest. They directed their first music video for the band Brent Amaker and The Rodeo, and it’s currently traveling with the NXNE Festival in Canada and the Western US. They begin shooting a video for Seattle band Head Like a Kite in late July 2007. They were invited to "All Things to All People" hosted by Sean Nelson (Harvey Danger), a show that also included David Schmader, Harvey Danger, and John Roderick of The Long Winters. Their new DVD release date is July 10th, 2007. For the new DVD, they recorded a "Rap Metal" song under the name Voltage Periscope, which was produced by acclaimed Seattle producer Erik Blood. When asked what the new dvd is like, Black Daisy member Cody Hurd insightfully replied, "Dude, man, you have like, no idea dude, it's like, more fucked up, man, fuck."
